IFD, Inc. offers ultra-short duration releases with release
times ranging from as little as one minute to 6 hours.
1) The USD release with optional oil-filled battery pack
offers the shortest release timing of all the devices available
from IFD, Inc. It is capable of giving release timing ranging
from as little as one minute to as much as 120 minutes with
an accuracy of 30 seconds in ten (10) minutes. This inexpensive
battery driven release can be designed to support loads of
several hundred pounds. When used as a trigger on a mechanically
advantaged release the load limit is unlimited. The USD release
sells for $100.00 to $250.00 US according to design and quantity.
2) The size AA1 and AA2 galvanic releases are a small corrodible
links of which samples are available. These simple links are
proving to be very popular for use in short term restraint
of light loads. Their release times vary from two (2) to six
(6) hours depending on the conditions they are used in. The
cost of these releases ranges from $10.00 to $20.00 per release
depending on quantity purchased.
